About Panjab Radio

Listen to the internet radio of Panjab Radio live, which was launched in 2000 with the aim of becoming a major player in the United Kingdom's Asian radio listening community. The broadcaster's musical line-up features bhangra and Asian folk music, covering every decade from the 70s to the present, including classics and easy-listening pieces. In addition to musical content, the station also provides airtime for talk programmes, covering news, entertainment, and cultural topics. The native Gurbani and Panjabi languages occur regularly, particularly when heritage, religion, cultural, and traditional topics are discussed or religious sermons are performed. Panjab Radio serves as an authentic bond between the Asian diaspora and its original culture and roots.

Panjab Radio has taken the decision to stop broadcasting nationally via the Sound Digital DAB multiplex. The station will be removed tonight at midnight, three years after it joined. Panjab Radio’s Managing Director Surjit Singh Ghuman MBE told RadioToday it’s been tough to sustain the national service due to a number of reasons.
