Listen to the internet radio of Sun FM Radio live, which started in 1990 as Wear FM, broadcasting from Sunderland. After a few name and ownership changes, it eventually became Sun FM and is now owned by Nation Broadcasting Ltd. The broadcaster operates as a local radio station, covering mainly Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, and North Durham with relevant news, sport, travel, traffic, and weather information. The station's playlist primarily consists of the current best pop hits, but it is diversified with a varied selection of greatest hits and some 90’s dance hits. Sun FM enlivens the mornings every day of the week as Simon Grundy sets the tone and leads the conversations from 6am to 10am on weekdays. Since 1 May 2024, the radio has been rebranded as Nation Radio North East, with local programming on weekdays from 6am to 11am, while the other hours feature networked programming from Nation Radio.
