About Signal 1
Listen online to the internet radio of Signal 1 live, the radio station that launched in 1983 to serve the Staffordshire area, later expanding its reach to Cheshire in 1989. Signal 1 is owned by Bauer Radio Ltd., and member of the Planet Radio station group. The Signal 1 playlist is a carefully curated selection of the most popular hits from the past two decades, with a primary focus on current music. The station's schedule is filled with locally produced programs, interactive phone-ins, and a commitment to avoiding automated programming. Weekdays on Signal 1 Radio kick off with the energetic breakfast show, hosted by Elliot and Matilda, running from 6am to 10am. This dynamic duo helps listeners start their day on the right note. Hits Radio networking starts on new Bauer stations
Bauer’s newly acquired local radio stations are starting to introduce Hits Radio Brand programming from Monday 15th June 2020. The on-air changes start today at the Wireless stations becoming part of the Hits Radio network – Signal 1, Pulse 1 and The Wave (Swansea) – which will get new imaging, production, jingles and playlists to reflect the new status. Bauer no longer has to sell Wolverhampton licence
The CMA has published additional findings in its investigation into Bauer owning the Wolverhampton licence for Signal 107. It now says there is no problem with Bauer keeping the service, having revised its view to provisionally conclude that no SLC has occurred or may be expected to occur in the supply of local radio advertising in the Wolverhampton area. Wireless creates its own weekly Top 40 show
Local radio stations owned by Wireless are to broadcast a new weekly Top 40 chart show each Sunday afternoon from 4pm till 7pm.
The Total Access Top 40 will be hosted by Olivia Jones and available on nine stations – Signal 1, Signal 107, Wish FM, Pulse 1, Peak FM, Tower FM, Wire FM, Radio Wave and The Wave.
