Europe’s Biggest Dance Show returns at Radio 1

Radio 1 is broadcasting Europe’s Biggest Dance Show for another year as nine radio stations come together for the event. Stations from eight different countries will air an eight hour dance music simulcast on Friday 23rd October. Jammy move as Global poach MistaJam for Capital Dance

Capital is launching Capital Dance on DAB across the UK and has poached MistaJam from BBC Radio 1 to launch it – today – RadioToday can reveal. MistaJam, who resigned suddenly from the BBC last week, will host Tuesday to Saturday Drive on Capital Dance and the Capital Weekender, Friday and Saturday from 7pm on both Capital and Capital Dance. BBC Radio 1 hires singer songwriter YUNGBLUD

BBC Radio 1 has partnered with YUNGBLUD for a brand new weekly podcast launching on BBC Sounds in October. Announced during his appearance on Clara Amfo’s show today for Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month 2020, The YUNGBLUD Podcast will interview young music fans who are approaching turning points in their lives. Launch date and schedule set for Radio 1 Dance

Radio 1 Dance, the BBC’s first 24 hour streaming-only radio station launches on Friday 9th October at 6pm. It will bring together new versions of some of Radio 1’s existing dance programmes via BBC Sounds, and provide a second chance to hear dance shows from Radio 1. Radio 1 signs Vick Hope to host weekend shows

Former Capital Breakfast co-host Vick Hope is joining BBC Radio 1 from Sunday 6 September to co-host Life Hacks followed by The Official Chart: First Look. Vick will join current co-host Katie Thistleton on Life Hacks, the show which discusses issues affecting young people, and The Official Chart: First Look.
