BBC Radio 1 today announced the star-studded line up for BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards 2018 with Little Mix, 5 Seconds of Summer, HRVY, Jack and Jack, Jonas Blue, Mabel, Not3s and Sigrid all set to perform at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Sunday 21 October 2018. Hosted by BBC Radio 1 presenters Greg James, Maya Jama and Mollie King, the show will also feature the biggest names across music, television, film and sport, with more to be announced.

Wisebuddah wins Radio 1 late show commission

BBC Radio 1’s new late indie show with Jack Saunders will be created by Wisebuddah, with Fuzz Chaudhrey hired to produce the nightly programme. Executive Producer Clare Chadburn and Assistant Producer Bradley Duggan will also work on the show, which airs Monday to Thursday from 11pm till 1am starting on September 3rd.

Hosted by the 1Xtra DJ family, the station’s flagship live music event will take place in London at the O2 Arena on Saturday 22 September. Date set for new Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James

Greg James will start the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show earlier than expected, he has announced on BBC Breakfast TV. He was a guest on the show today, Friday morning, to announce the new programme will start on Monday 20th August rather than the previously expected date of September 3rd.

RAJAR Q2 2018: London and national brands update

Kiss has taken over from Capital as the biggest commercial radio station in London in the latest Q2/2018 RAJAR listening figures. Capital’s audience in the capital is down 10.8% year on year to 2.063m, while Kiss has had a great quarter, hitting 2.087m weekly listeners – 24,000 more than its rival. In third place is Magic (1.667m), which leapfrogs rival Heart this quarter (1.404m). LBC is in fifth on reach with 1.280m listeners in the capital (down 9.3% year on year).

Greg James thanks listeners as he leaves Drivetime

Greg James has said thank you to his listeners and his co-host Chris Smith for his last six years on the Drive show at Radio 1. Greg presented his last show on Thursday last week ahead of moving to Breakfast in the autumn.
