Bauer’s Cash for Kids raised £20.9 million in 2019

Cash for Kids, Bauer Media’s dedicated charity network, has announced that £20.9 million was raised in 2019 to help disadvantaged children. Over 1 million sick and underprivileged children benefited from Cash For Kids’ campaigning, thanks to generous donations from the British public. Shortlist out for Audio and Radio Industry Awards 2020

The shortlist for this year’s Radio Academy’s ARIAs have been announced at an event at News UK headquarters in London. Presenters getting nominated include Chris Evans, Greg James, Stephen Nolan, Zoe Ball and Frank Skinner. New presenters for Absolute Radio late shows

The Absolute Radio late show will be re-launched in the New Year with Jay Lawrence on weeknights and Dan Noble on weekends. Jay joined the station in 2018 and this year launched Through the Decades on weekends, playing three hours of music from the brand’s decade stations – Absolute Radio 60s to Absolute Radio 10s. Winners announced for the 2019 Audio Production Awards

The winners have been revealed for the Audio Production Awards at a gala evening at the BFI Southbank, hosted by Tommy Sandhu. The special Gold Award went to the Mental Health Minute, coordinated by Radiocentre and produced by Somethin’ Else in 2018 and TBI Media in 2019. The Mental Health Minute was broadcast in May across hundreds of radio stations, including BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and 5 Live, BBC Local Radio, as well as networks including Global, Bauer and Wireless and community stations. Bauer to launch Absolute Radio 10s online

Dave Berry has just announced the launch of a new station from the Absolute Radio family, featuring music from the 2010s. Absolute Radio 10s joins 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and Absolute Classic Rock, and will also carry the Dave Berry Breakfast Show, Bush and Richie at Hometime and Frank Skinner and Jason Manford at the weekend. RAJAR Q3 2019: London and national brands round-up

Zoe Ball has lost another 364,000 listeners to her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show in the latest radio listening figures from RAJAR. It means more than a million weekly listeners have switched off since she took over the breakfast show from Chris Evans in January. Magic and Absolute Radio to broadcast from New Zealand

Bauer Radio is to partner with Tourism New Zealand and broadcast from across the country with Magic Radio and Absolute Radio. The partnership will see the two stations create a week of bespoke programming from across New Zealand, connecting audiences to the essence of Kiwi culture and local communities through on-air breakfast show promotion, online and social video content. The campaign started on Monday 23rd September and will run till 20th October as a direct partnership between Bauer Media and Tourism New Zealand.

Absolute Radio’s Hometime expands across network

Absolute Radio’s Hometime show is to be shared across the other Absolute-branded stations, with 7 separate playlists. The programme, presented by Andy Bush and Richie Firth for the last year, will air on Absolute’s decades stations – 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s – as well as Absolute Classic Rock and the main station. The split playlist technology developed by RCS and Bauer is already used on the Dave Berry Breakfast Show to enable genre specific music for each service alongside the live presenter content.

Tony Dibbin gets weekday mornings on Absolute Radio 70s

Former Gold breakfast presenter Tony Dibbin is joining Absolute Radio 70s for a new morning show. Tony will be on-air each weekday from 10am till 1pm starting on Monday September 9th. Absolute Radio’s Content Director, Paul Sylvester told RadioToday: “Tony is a great addition to the Absolute Radio family. With a wealth of music knowledge and experience, he is genuinely passionate about our music offering. We can’t wait to have him on board.”
