Audio: Radio industry unites to thank the NHS

Radio stations all over the UK came together to thank NHS workers during the coronavirus pandemic. A mass applause, coordinated under the #clapforourcarers hashtag on social media, showed the country’s gratitude to all the nurses, doctors, GPs, carers and many others working tirelessly to help fight the virus. The winners at the Audio and Radio Industry Awards 2020 have been revealed at an event at the London Palladium. Bauer plans big night of radio coverage at BRITs

Bauer’s Hits Radio and KISS are broadcasting live from The BRIT Awards tonight as the event marks its 40th anniversary. RAJAR Q4 2019: London and national brands round-up

Coverage of the general election helped 5 Live, Radio 4 and LBC each add half a million listeners across 2019. 5 Live is up from 4.9m to 5.4m in the Q4/2019 RAJAR listening figures, while Radio 4 has added a similar amount, rising from 10.4m a year ago to 10.9m now. Bauer’s Cash for Kids raised £20.9 million in 2019

The shortlist for this year’s Radio Academy’s ARIAs have been announced at an event at News UK headquarters in London. New presenters for Absolute Radio late shows

The Absolute Radio late show will be re-launched in the New Year with Jay Lawrence on weeknights and Dan Noble on weekends. Jay joined the station in 2018 and this year launched Through the Decades on weekends, playing three hours of music from the brand’s decade stations – Absolute Radio 60s to Absolute Radio 10s. Winners announced for the 2019 Audio Production Awards

The winners have been revealed for the Audio Production Awards at a gala evening at the BFI Southbank, hosted by Tommy Sandhu. The special Gold Award went to the Mental Health Minute, coordinated by Radiocentre and produced by Somethin’ Else in 2018 and TBI Media in 2019. Bauer to launch Absolute Radio 10s online

Dave Berry has just announced the launch of a new station from the Absolute Radio family, featuring music from the 2010s. Absolute Radio 10s joins 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and Absolute Classic Rock, and will also carry the Dave Berry Breakfast Show, Bush and Richie at Hometime and Frank Skinner and Jason Manford at the weekend.
