Essex radio duo Martin Day and Su Harrison have celebrated 20 years since going on-air together in the county. They were first drafted together on Essex FM on September 11th 2000, before the station was rebranded to Heart in 2009. Due to networking at local radio stations and cuts, Martin and Su were then left without a home in May 2019 before Radio Essex signed them up. The Communicorp station now has 132,000 weekly reach (last year 94,000) and 1.28 million hours (last year 546k), giving it more total hours than Manchester’s heritage station Hits Radio. Radio City’s Dave Kelly to leave Breakfast Show

Breakfast Show co-host Dave Kelly is leaving Radio City in March to take up a full-time live show on X1071 in the Cayman Islands. Co-host Leanne Campbell is staying with the station and has just signed on for another two years at Breakfast. Dave moved to Liverpool in 2011 to be the host of Radio City’s Drive show before moving to co-host the breakfast show with Leanne in 2014. Martin and Su from Heart Essex join Radio Essex

Radio Essex has just announced former Heart Essex Breakfast presenters Martin Day & Su Harrison are joining the station for Breakfast. The pair left the local Heart station earlier this year when the breakfast show went networked with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden. Martin and Su will replace Chris and Abbie who move to Drive, replacing Paul Lovett who moves to weekends and cover.
