More stars confirmed for Jazz FM’s The Music that Made Me

Jazz FM has confirmed three more jazz superstars as part of its The Music That Made Me series, which features artists intimately discussing their most defining musical influences and inspirations. Tomorrow evening (5 September) at 9pm, Jazz FM’s Nigel Williams will be in conversation with American singer-songwriter Norah Jones. The nine-time Grammy Award winner had early success with her album Come Away With Me and eighteen years later released Pick Me Up Off The Floor in June. The following week on Saturday 12 September it’s Jamie Cullum, who is no stranger to Jazz FM. Scala Radio hires Mr Motivator to present new show

Scala Radio has hired Derrick Evans, a.k.a. Mr Motivator for a two-part series exploring the power of listening to classical music while running. In his new show, Mr. Motivator On Da Run, the fitness legend will put together a classical playlist to work out to and help beat the lockdown blues. It will air on Sunday 13 and 20 September, aiming to inspire people to get active as the days start to get shorter. Acts announced for BBC Radio 2 Live at Home

BBC Radio 2’s replacement for Proms in the Park and Live in Hyde Park this year will take place online and the line-up has just been announced by Zoe Ball. Sheryl Crow, Craig David, Erasure, Sir Tom Jones, The Killers, John Legend, McFly, Gregory Porter, The Pretenders and Nile Rodgers & CHIC feat. BBC Radio 2 reveals Wonderwall by Oasis is the UK’s official best-selling Britpop song

Oasis were crowned the Kings of Britpop on Bank Holiday Monday on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds as Britpop Top 50 with Jo Whiley counted down the UK’s 50 best-selling Britpop songs of the 90s. Using exclusive data from Official Charts Company, Wonderwall by Oasis topped the chart at number one with sales of 1.4 million, followed by Don’t Look Back In Anger by Oasis in second place, with The Verve’s Bitter Sweet Symphony taking the bronze medal. Alex Jones joins BBC Radio Wales weekends

The One Show’s Alex Jones is joining BBC Radio Wales to host a new weekend show. New Youth Orchestra series for Scala Radio

Scala Radio is to broadcast a new show ‘Sunday Night Scala in the Youth Orchestra’. It’ll be a four-part series where Scala will hand the music and microphone over to the next generation of classical music stars. Changes at KISS including new weekend schedule

Bauer’s KISS has today unveiled a fresh new weekend schedule. Charlie Powell, Swarzy Macaly, Alex Mansuroglu, Sam Darlston & Omah Howard all feature on the new look line-up launching on the 7th of September. Brand new pairing Sam and Omah are both previous winners of ‘KISS Chosen One’. Greatest Hits Radio Drivetime presenters revealed

Greatest Hits Radio will have nine regional Drivetime shows across its network of over 50 local radio stations in England and Wales when it expands on September 1st. There will be nine ‘super stations’ made up of all the current services operating as GHR by Bauer, and those previously owned by UKRD, Celador, Wireless and Lincs FM Group. The new enlarged regional areas are the North West, North East, Yorkshire, Midlands, East, South West, South and Wales. Bauer launches Magic 100% Christmas in August

Bauer Media has today launched pop-up station Magic 100% Christmas – four months before the big day. The station will be online only this year, with Bauer saying the service is needed to lift the spirits of the UK.
