Tony Blackburn has taken over the breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 in a stunt to celebrate 60 years since the launch of Radio Caroline. He interrupted the music and started playing Caroline by The Fortunes, and said his pirate colleague Johnnie Walker would have been with him but he’s slept in(!

Date set for Capital’s new breakfast show with Jordan North

Jordan North will join Capital on Monday 8th April following the departure of Roman Kemp this morning. Roman hosted his last show on Thursday 28th March with Sian and Chris after six years on the show, and ten years at Capital.

Sarah Julian to host Breakfast BBC Radio WM replacing Rakeem Omar

Sarah Julian is moving from BBC Radio Nottingham to host Breakfast on BBC Radio WM. The new show will start on Tuesday 7th May, weekdays from 6 till 10am. Sarah joined the BBC in 1997 and is currently the Breakfast Show presenter in Nottingham and has worked across several BBC stations and projects.

BBC dominates shortlist for 2024 Audio and Radio Industry Awards

The shortlist for the Audio and Radio Industry Awards has been revealed with 80 nominations for the BBC. Commercial Radio accounted for approximately 50 nominations spread out over 18 radio stations, whilst podcasting got around 40 mentions on the shortlist.

BBC Radio 5 Live set to mark 30 years of broadcasting

BBC Radio 5 Live has announced plans to celebrate its 30th birthday on Thursday 28 March 2024 with a day of special programming. The station launched at 5am on Monday 28 March 1994, taking over from BBC Radio 5 which ran from 1990 to 1994.
