Jacqui Blay appointed Content Controller at Pulse 1 & 2

Pulse in West Yorkshire has appointed Jacqui Blay as Content Controller, succeeding Tony McKenzie. Sister Bliss signs up for series on Scala Radio

Sister Bliss, one of the founding members of electronica band Faithless, has signed up for a new five-part series on Scala Radio, launching on 1st September. Viking FM is moving out of Hull to join Hallam FM

Viking FM is moving its broadcast teams out of Hull to co-locate with Hallam FM in Sheffield. The station’s only remaining local show (once Drive goes networked in September), Breakfast with Alex Duffy and Ellie Brennan, will be broadcast from Sheffield starting on 2nd October. Garry Spence to leave Capital Scotland for Clyde 1

Capital Scotland drivetime presenter Garry Spence is leaving the station after more than a decade to join commercial rival Clyde 1. Complaints against Nigel Farage Show rejected

Ofcom has rejected seven complaints made against The Nigel Farage Show on LBC for comments made by the host. During a programme on 31st March, Nigel Farage said that “Jon Snow should be attacked” during a discussion with Alastair Campbell about Brexit and the fact that the UK did not leave the European Union on 29 March 2019. talkSPORT announces Premier League coverage plans

Saturdays will be known as ‘GameDay’ on talkSPORT as the station announces a new line-up of presenters for the start of the new Premier League season. Bauer to network drivetime across 11 licences in North and Midlands

Bauer Media has announced plans to network Wes Butters and Gemma Atkinson across most of its big city stations in England, meaning 7 presenters will lose their daily drivetime show. Capital’s Roman Kemp in trouble for repeated swear words

Capital has been found in breach of two Ofcom rules for broadcasting a pre-recorded offensive item twice in the same breakfast show. Content with the offensive language, (an F bomb), was broadcast in a segment at 6.10am, to which the breakfast presenter apologised for. The exact same content, a prank call, was then broadcast again at 8.15 followed by a similar apology. BBC Radio 1Xtra announces shake up to weekend schedule

BBC Radio 1Xtra has unveiled changes to its weekend schedule to take effect this autumn. • Former 1Xtra Resident Nadia Jae will take on the Weekend Breakfast show • Sideman will host a brand new show in the Saturday lunchtime slot • Sundays on the station will become home to 1Xtra Old Skool Nadia Jae will take the reins on 1Xtra’s Weekend Breakfast show (6-10am) from mid-October.
